Boots & Bags

Today was the first day where I felt the feeling of fall in the air. The weather is starting to feel crisp and breezy, and I have begun unpacking some of my favorite wooly sweaters out of storage. There are a few items on my fall list, mostly pieces that are transitional between work and play. I think they would stand up to my new career in Real Estate, as well as fit into everyday life.

Well...the Celine Bags...I'm just dreaming, but ya never know..maybe one day!

Chloe Shoulder Bag Above

Love black on black on black..with leather leggings.

These Sartore boots are beautiful. They are available at one of my favorite Vancouver stores, Misch. They are the perfect Equestrian boot.

Lastly, these Burberry Rainboots are the perfect boots for our rainy west coast weather. Realistically, they could be worn from October until May. I know I would get a lot of wear out of them.

Puppy

We drove to Courtney to pick up our baby golden-doodle last night. He looked even cuter than the day when we picked him out of the litter. He has been so well behaved! He only woke us up twice in the night and we were able to calm him down quickly by playing Bob Marley next to his crate...perhaps his name should be Marley? My little Reggae man..I am so in love with the little guy. We are still choosing a name; Hunter, Charlie, Harlow, or Finn?!

Before and After Book

For the past year I have been working on gathering photos for a before and after book of our house. Ryan purchased this house 2 years ago, and it has come a looong way. The house had great bones, it was built in 1950 and had never been updated until we came along. (Apart from the layers of pastel colored paint jobs...) I have had a hard time deciding upon the after photos, I always feel like something isn't quite finished and it's not quite ready for the final shot. I am hoping I will have it completed by the late springtime, photographing they yard is so much nice when the flowers are blooming.

We are planning on finishing up the landscaping, I would like to add flower boxes under the lower windows, as well as grow some sort of vine up the side of the chimney. We also plan to grow Laurel down either side of our lot to give us privacy from our neighbors without having to build a fence.

Here is a sneak peak of the before and "after.....although not quite finished!"

I love the look of these window boxes:

Our Best Friends

I have always held great amounts of love and adoration for dogs of all sorts. They can bring so much to our lives. Ryan and I have been talking about getting a dog for years now. Dogs fulfill us in so many different ways.... loving, trustworthy, humorous; they will be there by our sides as our loyal companions. I have always felt that a house is not a home unless there is an animal of some sort.....So after years and years of waiting for the right time to take the next step, we have decided to make our move. We will be bringing home our 8 week old Goldendoodle this week, and I will be sure to post pictures upon his arrival.

Dogs have such a wonderful presence to a home, who wouldn't want to come home to one wagging it's tail at the front door?

Long Hair vs. Short Hair

Every 3-4 years I tend to cut my hair short (chin length) because I get tired of all of the brushing of the knots and other maintenance that is SO necessary to prevent me from looking like a paper-bag princess. I love having long hair, and I hope that I can pull through this summer and keep the length going..Maybe I will be able to do this soon?

When my hair gets really dried out and lifeless, I resort to Davines NouNou Reparing Mask . I recently found it at a very sweet salon in Nanaimo's Gallery Row, called "Love Your Hair." They carry a wide range of Davines products, which I was so excited to discover! More local shopping in the city in which I choose to live.

Davines is an Italian Beauty line that uses organic products are are known for their authentic formulas.

Davines Authentic face/hair/body Restoring Butter: regenerating, nourishing butter with organic Safflower Oil. Used as pre-shampoo treatment for dry hair; ideal as a deep, nourishing cream for face and body.

Morning Coffee & Island Beach Walk

This past weekend, Ryan and I took a stroll across the beach in Lantzville. I was hoping to find some unique peices of driftwood, as I am planning to dry it out and hang it on our walls as artwork..no luck this time. It was a cool grey morning, yet still so beautiful land the color of the ocean was a bright emerald green. These walks always remind me that we live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and how lucky we are.

Afterwards, we went for coffee at Riso, a new Resturaunt Cafe in Lantzville. A quaint little cafe/resturaunt that makes handmade pizza in their wood-fired oven and artisan breads. We have enjoyed a few outstanding dinners there in the past, and are excited to go back. The small menu has something for everyone, and it is fresh & local, my favorite.

I did some Instagramin' on our walk..
